Letter to a dude that I felt stood me up.. I think its reasonable...

This handsome guy asked to meet me last week. Id never met him before but he hit me up on facebook and asked to meet. I thought why not. We planned to me THAT DAY. I moved my schedule around for it, didnt eat, waited , waited, waited... no feedback... he then writes me and says he fell asleep... Hrmmmm... Well thats not exactly legitimate, and to me it says "I could care less.". He wrote me three times asking to meet up again and I was being mildly passive aggressive and didnt answer because I was sorta pissed. He wrote me again today. This was my response. I think its a good one and youre free to plagiarize if you get put in the same situation. I think self esteem is harder to have then you think, so its good to exercise it. He wrote today and asked if I wanted to meet, this is my response to that question:
Hey ****, Id like to but to be honest I feel like I got stood up that day. I know you fell asleep but still, what does that say about me if I said "Yeah lets meet?!" Out of principle Im gonna have to say no, you seem cool, cute etc but I just dont wanna put my self in that kind of situation where thats ok. It just sets a bad example for me to me :)
I dont have any dislike for you or anything, if you see me or I see you say HI. I dont have a bad vibe on you, I just dont wanna say to the world "Its ok to get stood up", nothing against you :)

and if he did? how is that excusable? That still means "i didnt care enough to consider being on time."

Yeah, I guess you are right.

That's fair, Dave.

I appreciate and respect you for the candor more than the typical person, who would just ignore the guy.

Good for you, Dave.

You deserve someone who is capable, at minimum, of setting an alarm clock.

Anyway, "I fell asleep," sounds like code for, "I'm an alcoholic who binged the night before and was too sick to get out of bed and too self-absorbed to consider calling to cancel."

Who wants that!

This all reminds me of the time a guy stood me up and then bitched me out—despite the fact that I showed up on time at the restaurant and waited 30 mins. He flaked because I had the audacity to forget my phone at home and fail to answer text messages within minutes of our appointed date. What an ass!

P.S. Be grateful. It sounds like you dodged a bullet.

Dave, I´m shocked! That response is so uncharacteristically nice and un-Newyorkian of you! Remember how you treated that poor terrified taxi driver? I really think getting stood up deserves exactly that level of a treatment :)
