Dont come to NYC and expect a good time going to clubs... they no longer exist... for real... go somewhere else.. Im in NYC and I assure you, its dead

My friends and I went out Saturday night to a Peter Rauhoffer circuitesque "tribal" event. Believe it or not I actually like "tribal" music, its higher tempo and runwayeee, and has FEW vocals, if any, and thats what Im into. I dont like vocals of people telling me to "Feel the power" and "Rise UP" and "Feel Free" ... Thanks, I do all those things 900 times a day, I dont wanna hear it at the club... I wanna imagine my own visuals and just JIGGLE and BOUNCE as Im usually too large to actually dance because I take up too much space to ACTUALLY MOVE MY LIMBS so end up being a TRANNYSAURUS and just bouncing because if I were to move my arms someone would get hurt....
Anyways we go to this new club District 36... Its SMALL but the sound system is good.... Its an all gay night so everyone on the dance floor has their shirt off... They send a security guard around to tell everyone to PUT THEIR SHIRTS BACK ON?!?!?!?! Seriously like this is UTAH or something.... FUCKING GROSS!!!! DO NOT TALK TO ME LIKE IM A STRAIGHT PERSON!?! They also made my friend the JEWESS FURRIER check his chain on his wallet ( which then of course got stolen), as if hes gonna THROW DOWN AND STRANGLE someone with it?! Gimme a fuckin break... I HATE IT when clubs do not know how to manage a gay night and treat it as though its the same as a straight night. I actually find that TOTALLY INSULTING. Its TOTALLY different then a straight night and do not talk to me as though Im some IDIOT STRAIGHT CLOWN. In comparison to straight clubs gay guys DO NOT fight AT ALL. I have worked in clubs for years and I cant remember a fight ... EVER.
All of this just goes to show you how corporate and micro managed New York City has become. Manhattan is no longer a city, its just a giant CONVENTION CENTER. Dont visit here, theres nothing going on. Its like one of those dead coral reefs, a skeleton of a former thriving community. If youre thinking about having a fun time in clubs go to London, or Madrid, or I hear Rio ( though Ive never been so I cant say) but NOT NYC. NYC will tell you to put your shirt back on because its sexual and thats BAD....
I imagine the only reason why they say that actually isnt the WOMEN complaining, its the OTHER STRAIGHT MEN, who dont have body and get BITCHY so they complain and act like its a CLASS ISSUE and probably say its GAY. When in reality theyre just jealous. Gay or straight, jealous bitches suck. Its an unsung PLAGUE. Next time you bitch about someone, ask yourself if its jealousy. I do and 90% it is and Im just trying to fool myself into thinking its something else but its NOT Im just being a jealous brat..

I totally agree with you. NYC has become a shell of it's former self and all the things that make NYC the edgy, arty place have been turned into Walmart/Kmart/Target country. I love to go dancing when I'm back in NY, but it seems like the only time I can go is when there's a big Gay Pride event (Alegria, Work with Peter Rauhofer). Anything else is just more drama than I need.

I dont agree. I find that poeple who complain about NYC being over are just out of touch.
Im sure that gay theme party sucked, but there are plenty of fun cool and interesting things going on, and if your really are bored, entertain. You know how to throw a good party, so throw one.
ps: I went to Suzanne Bartch's tuesday night party at the standard last week and it was cute..

JEWESS FURRIER I love. But anyways this is what you get for going to Peter, and missing my choreography at Alegria lol ;)

Don't complain until you live in SF and see how pathetic the options for dancing are. Ever since Universe closed TEN years ago, there has been nothing regular worth mentioning except one monthly t-dance (Fresh).

It has been many years since I have been out dancing in NYC and I find this disapointing. I miss the days before Guillani "cleaned" the city up and took away a lot of it's edge. Screw the straight guys, their just jealous of our fabulousness. I am not in shape like you are, I always welcome shirtless (even pant less ) men. We always have P-town, at least for the time being.

I heard the party was great...but your encounter mostly sounds like utter disgust at the handling of a gay night at a str8 club...Which i work in all that and believe me it does get very frustrating when there is 6 security guards all making life hell for the gay patrons when the party is not STR8 that night.
